Kite Trips to Isla Blanca
Weather is hard to predict and changes in a heart bit. That’s a fact!
Normally windy season in Tulum is from November to May, more or less during winter and spring. But as I said weather is hard to predict and so is wind.
Last Christmas period was a proof of that. We had a large list of clients to teach kitesurfing during two weeks from Christmas to New Year, but the wind didn’t blow in Tulum on Holidays.
The wind can be tricky but at Mexican Caribbean Kitesurf we are too. We search the wind, we follow the wind and if there is no wind in Tulum we travel to the very same spot where the wind is blowing.
So we spent two weeks going back and forth to Isla Blanca, an awesome kiteboarding spot Northern Cancun where the North Wind is spectacular. Isla Blanca with “El Norte” has never disappointed us. Every day we had new clients to teach in Isla Blanca.
We woke up early in the morning, loaded the truck, picked up our clients at 7:00 a.m. in their hotels and drove to Isla Blanca just doing a quick stop at El Nativo in Playa del Carmen to have an amazing and delicious Mexican breakfast with eggs rancheros, fruits and milkshakes. A complete and healthy breakfast to face a long and great day of kitesurfing training in Isla Blanca.
Isla Blanca is an awesome spot for both experts riders and students. It is a peninsula protected from the waves of the ocean, with flat water where you can walk away of the shore to practice alone without people walking on the beach.
We taught all day long, the instructors sailed a bit at the end of the day and came back late in the afternoon to our beautiful Tulum.
We love our turquoise Tulum spot but when “El Norte” blows we welcome it in Isla Blanca. If you are in Tulum and the wind is not blowing in the right direction ask for a Kite Trip to Isla, you will have an awesome time kiting in a new spot.
